Christian Marquise Wood was born in the city of Long Beach, California, on September 27, 1995. Jeanette Stewart is his mother’s name. Derek Stewart, his younger brother, grew up with him.

Christian Wood began his high school education at Los Alamitos High School in his freshman year. For one year, he attended Knight High School in Palmdale, California, before transferring to Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nevada.

Christian Wood was ranked No. 36 overall in the class of 2013 by Rivals (and No. 8 at his position) and No. 10 by Scout. He was also ranked as the No. 71 overall prospect by ESPN. He played college basketball for the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
