Bruno Pereira was born on August 15, 1980, in the city of Recife, Pernambuco. He was an indigenist and Funai’s career servant. In 2019, he led the largest mission in 20 years to contact remote Indians.
However, he was fired from his role in October of that year by Sergio Moro’s then-executive secretary at the Ministry of Justice, Luiz Pontel, following pressure from ritualist sections affiliated to Jair Bolsonaro’s government.
