What is the difference between Apple M1 and M2: During the WWDC 2022 event, Apple finally unveiled their flagship M2 CPU, which has been under development for over 1.5 years. Apple’s next generation of goods, including the present MacBook Air as well as future Macs and iPads, will be powered by the Apple M2 processor.

What is the difference between Apple M1 and M2

The specifications of the Apple M1 and M2 chips are compared below.

Both the Apple M1 and M2 contain eight CPU cores, but the M2 has a higher transistor count of 20 billion, compared to 16 billion on the M1. The Apple M2’s CPU is 18% faster than the Apple M1’s in the same power envelope.

The Apple M2 CPU supports up to 24GB of unified memory with a 100GBps speed, which is incredible. The M1, on the other hand, can only support 16GB of Unified memory and runs at 68.25 Gbps.

Apple claims that the GPU on the M2 chip is 35 percent quicker than the GPU on the M1. In this scenario, the M2 CPU’s additional GPU cores have made a considerable difference, making it a good alternative for intense graphics applications. What is the difference between Apple M1 and M2
