What is happening with Mario Batali: Batali is being charged with indecent assault and battery, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, for alleged groping in a Boston restaurant in 2017.
He has submitted a not guilty plea to the accusations.

Batali disappeared from public view after the claims, and his restaurant group terminated connections with him in 2018. Batali was investigated by the New York Police Department for allegations of sexual misconduct, however both investigations were concluded in 2019 without charges being brought.

Batali’s lawyer, Anthony Fuller, tried to undermine Natali Teneone, one of the victims, by alleging that the assault never happened. He believes the accuser has a financial incentive to lie because she is suing Batali in Suffolk County Superior Court in Boston for more than $50,000 in damages in a separate civil lawsuit.
