According to Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone, Pelosi will not be accepted to communion in the Archdiocese of San Francisco and will not be able to receive the Eucharist until she withdraws her support for abortion.

“Unfortunately, Speaker Pelosi’s view on abortion has only become more radical over the years, especially in the last few months,” Cordileone says in the statement. San Francisco archbishop bars Pelosi from communion

According to the report, “a Catholic legislator who supports procured abortion after learning the Church’s doctrine commits a grievous sin that causes grave embarrassment to others.”

‘After numerous attempts to speak with her in order to help her comprehend the grave evil she is committing, the scandal she is causing, and the danger she is posing to her soul, I have determined that the time has come for me to make a public declaration that she will not be admitted to Holy Communion unless and until she publicly repudiates her support for abortion ‘rights’ and publicly repudiates her support for the death penalty.’

Pelosi has only been denied communion in San Francisco; Catholic bishops will decide if she is able to receive communion in other parts of the country. San Francisco archbishop bars Pelosi from communion
