Penelope Bartley was born on December 22, 1925 in Hendon, Middlesex, England as Noel Penelope Bartley. Penelope Bartley and Leslie Philips had four children with Leslie Phillips: daughters Caroline and Claudia and sons Andrew and Roger.

Leslie Phillips CBE is an English actor. He appeared in the Carry On and Doctor in the House film series as well as the long-running BBC radio comedy series The Navy Lark.
