Mercedes Palacios, 26, was in the vehicle with Gladney, according to her relatives, who verified this to NBC News.

Mercedes is a subject about which little is known. She did, however, use the Instagram name cedespalacios, and at the time of her death, she had 8905 followers and had posted two posts.

Mercedes Palacios was thought to be a model at the time.

The NFL, the Cardinals, and the Minnesota Vikings, who drafted Gladney in 2020, all released statements on Monday announcing the loss.

According to the Cardinals,

“We were heartbroken to learn about Jeff Gladney’s death.”

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and those who are grieving this tragic loss.”

“Jeff’s present and past teammates and coaches who are mourning his life lost far too soon,” the Vikings stated in a statement.
