The environment leaves her emotionally weakened and in despair. Since she is about to get married and move out of her parents’ house, Mehreen wants to know whether it’s possible to be a strong, independent woman and a good Muslim in modern Britain. Finally, she discovers what the Quran says about women’s rights and how widely women’s experiences vary across different Muslim communities.
