Leo Mezie Cause Of Death: Popular Nollywood actor, Leonard Chimezie Onyemachi, mostly known as Leo Mezie has died after years of battling kidney disease.

Leo Mezie, aged 46, reportedly died on Saturday May 14, 2022 after undergoing a kidney transplant.

It should be noted that this is not the first time Mezie has undergone a kidney transplant.

Mezie had his first kidney transplant over four years ago.

Mezie had another transplant somewhere last week, but began to develop complications and died on Saturday.

What Happened To The Nollywood Actor?

On Monday, May 16, 2022, actress Chioma Toplis reported Mezie’s death on Instagram. Leo Mezie Cause Of Death

Leo Mezie dead

Mezie died on Saturday in Abuja, according to Chioma, while recovering from a kidney transplant.

Chioma further stated that his body had been transported to his hometown of Umuahia for burial.

Mezie was born on January 25, 1976, and rose to prominence in 2003 with his appearance in the Nollywood blockbuster ‘Labista.’

Emma Ehummadu, Jerry Williams, and Ernest Asuzu co-starred with Mezie in Labista.

Other well-known Nollywood films Mezie’s credits include:

  2. No Man’s Land,
  3. Heart of a Slave,
  4. Close Enemy,
  5. King’s Sleepless Night, and
  6. Empty Throne.
