From January 3 until August 3 of 2022, she represented Indiana’s 2nd Congressional District.

She served as the Republican Party’s representative for Indiana’s 21st district in the Indiana House of Representatives from 2005 to 2010. She had been a part of the deputy whip team for the House GOP.

From 1985 to 1989, Walorski worked as a television reporter for WSBT-TV, a South Bend CBS station. From 1989 to 1991, she served as the executive director of the St. Joseph County Humane Society.

She worked at Ancilla College as the institutional advancement director from 1991 to 1996. From 1997 to 1999, she was employed by Indiana University South Bend as the annual giving director. Jackie Walorski Office

In 2004, she came back to the country and started a political career.

Walorski sponsored Indiana’s Voter ID law, which mandates that voters show government-issued identity while casting an in-person ballot, while she was a member of the Indiana House. The Supreme Court upheld the Voter ID statute in Crawford v. Marion County Election Board, which is credited for facilitating the expansion of Voter ID laws in other states. The Voter ID law was the subject of numerous litigation and was challenged in lower courts.

On August 3, 2022, Jackie Walorski was killed in an automobile accident in Indiana.
