Is Bob Neuwirth Related To Bebe Neuwirth: Robert John Neuwirth (Bob Neuwirth) was a folk singer, composer, record producer, and visual artist who lived in the United States.

Neuwirth became a member of Bob Dylan’s inner circle in the early 1960s, acting as his road manager during the infamous 1965 tour of England captured in D.A. Pennebaker’s Don’t Look Back.

In the mid-’70s, Neuwirth became a member of Bob Dylan’s Rolling Thunder Revue band and crew.

Neuwirth is credited with introducing Janis Joplin to Kris Kristofferson’s “Me and Bobby McGee” in addition to co-writing the Pearl song “Mercedes Benz.”

Neuwirth released Back to Front in 1988 and a succession of albums in the 1990s after his self-titled 1974 LP on Asylum Records.

Last Day on Earth, Neuwirth’s 1994 collaboration with John Cale, was followed by Havana Midnight, Neuwirth’s 1999 collaboration with José Maria Vitier.

Kris Kristofferson, Bobby Charles, Kinky Friedman, T Bone Burnett, Alejandro Escovedo, and others collaborated with Neuwirth.



Neuwirth was born on June 20, 1939, and died of heart failure on May 18, 2022, at the age of 82.

Robert, Bob’s father, worked as an engineer, while Clara Irene (Fischer) worked as a design engineer.

Bebe’s father, Lee Neuwirth, was a mathematician who taught at Princeton University and also worked at the Institute for Defense Analyses as an Encrypter.

Sydney Anne Neuwirth, Bebe’s mother, is a painter who also danced with the Princeton Regional Ballet Company as an amateur.
