Hackney was a state senator for eight years and contributed countless hours throughout the years, organizing community groups and serving on a variety of boards.
Hackney was in high demand at Republican conventions and meetings, where he was frequently invited to read President Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address, which was initially delivered during the Civil War.
Esther Louise, Glenn’s wife, passed away on July 18, 2012.
