Frankie Rex Cause Of Death: On May 11th, 2022, Frankie Rex, a promising transgender singer and member of the alternative group The FMs, died. They were both 37 at the time.

Matte Namer, a bandmate, revealed their demise on their official website and social media outlets on May 17. Rex died of “possible fentanyl toxicity” while at their home in Ithaca, New York, with their spouse, according to Namer.

Namer also indicated that Rex’s death would spell the end of The FMs for the time being, describing it as a “beautiful dream we had to wake up from way too soon,” before adding that the duo had recorded at least two albums worth of material that they wanted to share with the world at a later date. “We believe it is now our duty to make these available.”

Rex was a member of many rock groups in New York City’s alternative-punk scene during the late 2000s and early 2010s, including queer-punk trio BOYS and stoner punk band The Violent Orange.
