Frank Curry Jr Obituary: Frank Curry Jr. was an Australian rugby league personality and the son of former South Sydney Rabbitohs player Frank Curry Sr.

Curry Jr was a former South Sydney Rabbitohs player and coach.

Curry Jr. was signed by Souths in 1970 after playing junior football with Zetland United, Moore Park Broncos, and Mascot Jets.

Curry Jr joined Collegians in the Illawarra Rugby League the following season.

Curry Jr returned to the South Sydney Rabbitohs in 1973 after two seasons with Collegians.

Curry Jr made his first grade debut in round 4 of the 1973 season, in a 29-20 loss to the Canterbury Bulldogs at Belmore Sports Ground.

Curry Jr. moved into coaching after his playing career ended, and coached the Waterloo Waratahs in Souths’ junior league tournament.

Curry Jr took over as coach of the Souths in the Presidents Cup competition in 1986.

Curry Jr became the reserve grade coach for the Souths in 1988, a post he held until the completion of the 1990 season.

Curry Jr jumped into the fire when he took over the first grade role from long-serving Souths coach George Piggins in 1991, after coaching the lower grades for five seasons.

Curry Jr resigned as first-grade coach at the conclusion of the 1993 season.

Curry Jr died on May 15, 2022, at the age of 72.
