According to KIVITV, Jackson went missing on June 11 after being washed away by a river while rafting with his girlfriend on the Payette River.

They were late for their flight, but she was able to grab a tree and paddle her way to safety. According to a witness in Gem County, Jackson vanished underwater and never surfaced.

According to investigators, Jackson, who was a freshman on the LSU-Eunice basketball team for the 2020-21 season, was tubing with five friends when the accident occurred.

According to Gem County Sheriff Donnie Wunder, the water was pouring at a velocity that was dangerous to anyone who wasn’t utilizing a motorized equipment. Just days before the catastrophe, the river’s water level had risen by two feet.

According to Houma Today, it was churning at a rate of 10,200 cubic feet per second, four times the normal rate for June.
