Dom Phillips: The remains of one of the two victims discovered in the Amazon rainforest have been identified as those of UK journalist Dom Philips, according to Brazilian police.

According to them, the identification was made using dental data. On June 5, Dom Philips and Pereira were reported missing. A suspect was identified as the person who buried the dead earlier this week.

The two went missing in Brazil’s far west, in the Javari valley, a rural region home to thousands of indigenous people from over 20 different groups. It serves as a haven for these indigenous peoples who are cut off from the rest of the world.

Following the confession, Dom Philip’s family expressed their sadness at the news. Philip’s sister, Sian Philips, revealed in an interview that his family was aware of their hazards and that her brother had downplayed them to some extent.
