Daylight Savings: When does the time change? When is daylight savings?

Daylight Savings

Daylight Savings time (DST) is a phenomenon usually experienced by the United States and some other countries

The basic idea behind DST is to set clocks forward by one hour in the spring and set clocks back by one hour in autumn to return to standard time.

In 1784, American inventor, Benjamin Franklin proposed in a letter sent to the editor of The Journal of Paris that, waking up earlier in the summer would economize candle usage and improve considerable savings.

The United States adopted daylight saving in 1918. Though it was a good practice, Computer Installers did not like the idea. For example, the 2007 change to DST rules in North America required that many computer systems be upgraded, which had great effects on e-mail and calendar programs
